This museum-quality trompe l'oeil oil painting on canvas "Tea Canister with Marigolds" was one that I purchased directly from the artist a while back. This is an excellent example of Sfumato, the painting technique where the edges of the painting are blurred as they are in real life when you look starigjht at an object.  Like all of Mr. Finger's works, this one is a true masterpiece This painting is signed on the lower left "R. Finger. The size of this piece is 22" x 17".  Richard Edward "Rick" Finger (1942 - ) studied at the world famous Corcoran School of the Arts & Design, a part of George Washington University in Washington D.C. and is known for his detailed realist (realism) style paintings. His style has been compared to the old Dutch Master painters including Willem Kalf.  The painting is in used/vintage condition which may include paint scrapes or paint loss on both. The frame was purchased new specifically for this piece.
