Description

That's Ocala's selfie! She is quite fascinated about that cat in the camera. Ocala and her brother Otis love to play and particularly like little mice toys and laser toy time daily. She gets super-serious about her laser time and looks forward to it. They almost never meow but do chirping and other noises with each other, at playtime, and as greetings for their people. Ocala needs time to warm up to new situations as she is the more shy sibling, liking to scope out the details from a safe hiding spot until she feels comfortable. Some days she is very sociable; getting into my lap, walking over me, and rubbing on my legs. Other times she is more independent. This is just her personality and we roll with it. She loves to climb and be up high so if you have this option, even with a cat tower, she would love it. Ocala also adores cardboard and considers it her job to scratch a scratching pad to bits for your approval. She and her brother were rescued as older kittens from under a farm shed. Likely they were born at a horse farm next door. The farm owner was worried their dogs would hurt the kittens as they began to venture around the property. They have come a very long way with socialization and have turned into beautiful cats with fun purrsonalities. It is really important Otis and Ocala be adopted together as they are quite attached to one another. They are approximately 1 1/2 years old.

They thoroughly enjoy canned food; the bits and gravy style. They eat a small amount of supplemental free choice dry food and the veterinarian said they should not gain any additional weight for optimum health. Canned food is important for moisture intake and Save Our Strays encourages feeding canned food.

If interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website Highlight ""Adoption"" at the top of the home page, and choose ""Adoption Application"" to apply. We do ask for a $75 adoption fee for

cats which are already spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, and dewormed.

This fee allows SOS to continue to help other animals.
