Noel's story
Noel is a 3(ish) year old Pitbull/Basset Hound mix. It is hard to tell in the picture but Noel has a very long body and short little legs.
Noel's story is actually a very sad one, but we know it will have a happy ending!
Noel was dumped at a very high kill shelter with her puppies when they were only 4 weeks old. Since the shelter she was is not very well known, and is not open to the public, Noel and her babies sat at the shelter for more than 3 weeks with almost no care other than being fed and given water. Unfortunately only one of Noel's pups survived the shelter. Our rescue was notified about a single pup needing rescue who was sick and needed immediate care. When we got to the shelter to help, we realized the pup had a mom and we could not leave her behind so we sprung Noel and her remaining puppy from the shelter.
It has now been 3 weeks since Noel has been out of the shelter. She has been completely vetted and been well taken care of and loved. She is really starting to come out of her shell and her foster family has nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Noel gets along well with other dogs and LOVES people. She doesn't quite understand the concept of size or weight because she truly believes she is just as much a lap dog as the fosters 5lbs dog. She wants to snuggle up close all the time with her foster family. She loves to run around and play outside in the back yard with the other dogs and still acts like a puppy. She is potty trained and listens very well. She is really, truly, such an amazing dog. We will never understand how such a trusting, affectionate pup could have been dumped a shelter and left to die. Whatever family ends up adopting sweet Noel will be the luckiest family!
