Niner One 9 RDO Carbon Frame (MEDIUM) and RDO Carbon Fork
Niner One 9 RDO Carbon Frame (MEDIUM) and RDO Carbon Fork
Nov 17, 2024
Description

Niner One 9 RDO carbon Frameset with Niner RDO carbon forkFrame size Medium in raw carbon with glow in the dark blue finish.12x142mm rear spacingNiner Biocentric II Eccentric BBIncludes the following extras: Niner headset, YAWTD Top Cap, Niner seatpost clamp, spare rear geared derailleur hanger, front and rear thru-axles.***Stem and seatpost in pictures are NOT included in the auction.***The Niner One 9 RDO was specifically designed as a SS frame with a very stiff rear and strengthened bottom bracket shell, to accomodate the proprietary Biocentric II Eccentric BB compared to the standard Air 9 RDO frame of the era.  Other differences included the lack of a front derailleur mount as the frame was intended to be set up only with a single front chainring. Matching RDO fork was purchased a few years after the frame so there is a very slight color variation between the two.  This can be built into a bike that is light, stiff and responsive and begs to go fast.  Condition:  Used.  One owner bike, it has been ridden and raced and has some scuffs and scratches (see pictures). This frame was bought new in early 2016, but still turns heads.  Based on the serial number it appears to be a MY2014.   The frame does have a good sized chip in the finish on the underside of the bottom bracket from a rock that was kicked up.

This happened in 2017.  I inquired with Niner at the time and was told aside from cosmetically, it should not be a problem, given that the One 9 frame has the beefed up thick aluminum shell bonded into the carbon in that area to accomodate the eccentric BB.  The frame has had several thousand miles put on it in the time since (predominantly set up SS) without issue.  There are also 2 spots where the blue paint has been rubbed through.  One on the inside of the non-drive side seat stay and other on the drive side chain stay due to a borken spoke during a race.  The paint has been rubbed through, but neither of these wear spots appear to have impacted the carbon,  Again, this happened a long time and several thousand miles ago and has not caused any problems.   Happy Bidding.
