Nothing is quite as charming, or as much fun, as living or holidaying in a floathouse! There is a ton of value here with a 3BD, 1BA floathouse, a bunkhouse that sleeps 4, a fish cleaning station & a spacious shed with a laundry & workroom. In a protected bay, a 10 boat ride from Thorne Bay harbor, this is a peaceful & delightful place to spend time. Forget waterfront, live on the water!Let's take a tour! Park your boat at the front of the float and enter into the floathouse through glass french doors. You enter into a bright & cheerful living room & kitchen heated by a propane fireplace. On this lower level is a bathroom with a shower & instant hot water, as well as a new addition with a storage/work room and a bedroom. Head upstairs to two more bedrooms, open in plan, but with a privacy wall. Outside is a bunkhouse, a cute building with a central room with a propane space heater, a storage room at the back and a narrow bedroom on each side with 2 single beds in each. It needs a few finishing touches but is comfortable, fun and functional. Next is the shed, a roomy building with 3 rooms. It houses a propane generator & batteries, a laundry with a freezer, and workroom. Floathouses do require some maintenance and this one has been well cared for. Extra floatation in welded PVC pipes and new bags have been recently addd to the float, the seller is a diver and took great care of the float, both above and below the water. He said it is well anchored with blue steel rope to shore, with eyelets drilled into nearby rock. No real property comes with the floathouse, you are buying the float and the buildings on it only by bill of sale. The floathouse is permitted through the Forest Service, and the current permit has been paid up to 2027. You pay in 5 yearly increments, and it's $1,000 a year. The property comes turn-key, with everything that you need to move in as well as some handy extras like Dewalt tools and a BBQ. Water is fed to the float from a nearby spring. If you have some practical & boat skills, you will love this adorable setup! Live like they did in the old days, between logging camps. Life is charming here, simple, quiet & delightful.
