   PHOTOS

  AND INSTALLATION

PHOTOS TAKE PRECEDENT OVER DESCRIPTION! PLEASE LOOK AT PHOTOS

CAREFULLY! THESE LOOK VERY NICE BUT ARE NOT A PERFECT MATCH TO THE OLD AGED

BANDS! THEY ARE AGED BLACK WITH BRASS UNDERNEATH, BUT THERE IS NO TIGER STRIPING PRESENT ON THE SURFACER. THATS FOR YOU TO TRY. WE HAVE ANTIQUE ORIGINAL 120-YEAR-OLD BANDS IN STOCK BUT THEIR CONDITION

IS FAR MORE WORN AND THEY ARE MORE COSTLY. JUST CONTACT ME THRU MESSAGING IF

YOU WISH TO HAVE AN OLD SET.

  1ST PHOTO

  SHOWS:

  One set

of 11 ½” aged bands that come with the order.

  2ND PHOTO

  SHOWS:

  The ends

of the set of bands and the different sizes of the clips. Facing the unit for

reference, the right-side band has a smaller clip that will slide into the

larger clip on the left side of the next stack to it, interlocking them for stability.

The units must be the same size height to line up to interlock. Refer to the

  photos for full illustrations.

  THESE

PHOTOS OF STACK ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND TO HELP THE BUYER UNDERSTAND WHAT

THEIR SIDE BANDS MAY LOOK LIKE INSTALLED.

  3RD PHOTO

  SHOWS:

Shows the ends of pairs of bands for

reference. Note the difference sizes of the clips.

  4TH &

  5th PHOTO SHOWS:

  Shows a

pair of left and right-side bands interlocked for illustration.

  6th PHOTO

  SHOWS:

  Illustrates

#8 of the attachment hardware that comes with the set of side bands. There are

also included #2- ¾” 4D nails for attaching the tongue (not shown) that goes

thru the slots in the side bands and the rear bent “L” shaped end of the bands.

The ends are attached to the rear support board by nailing the ¾” 4D nail into

it. The tongue has a ¾” 4D nail that is nailed into the bottom of the front ¾”

structural brace. These are for both sides of the set of the bands. Many

original installations only had one side with the re-enforcing tongue. These

extra attachments at the rear of the band, and especially thru the tongue

inserted in the slots, have a rock-solid attachment to the units providing both

stability thru interlocking the units side by side, and stacks that are lined

up for a much safer library setting.

  7th PHOTO

  SHOWS:

  A 3-unit

stack showing the 5 predominate side bands seen in libraries. The bottom unit

is an “E” unit with 13 ½” length bands. Then it steps back using the “E” step

back (COMB.) bracket to transition to the “D” unit on the 2nd level.

The “D” unit band is 11 1/2” in length. This “D” unit then transitions to a “C”

unit using the “D” step back (COMB.) bracket. The “C” unit side bad length is 9

½” as is the “C” top. These bands are for sale in another of our eBay ads.

  8th PHOTO

  SHOWS:

  An

example of 17 ½” bands on a commercial file stack unit. These bands are for sale

in another of our eBay ads.

  9th PHOTO

  SHOWS:

  A

wonderful Globe Wernicke INTERLOCKING factory advertisement illustrating the

actions of the clips on the bands.

  FINAL

  PHOTO:

  Another

Globe Wernicke 1900 Advertisement that illustrates and explains the different

patented mechanical features of the Globe Wernicke construction.

  ITEM

  DESCRIPTION/DETAILS:

For those of you who are Globe Wernicke®/Macey stack barrister legal bookcase

collectors, restorers, investors and fans these are EXACTLY what you need

to finish detailing your Globe Wernicke® “D” & “C" series

  bookcase units.

  YOU ARE

PURCHASING A FULL SET OF 2 (TWO) SIDE BANDS WITH AN AGED

FINISH. THAT'S ONE PAIR, THAT MEASURE 11 1/2 INCHES IN LENGTH.

THE “C” UNIT 9 1/2" SIZE LENGTH IS MADE AVAILABLE BY CUTTING THE ENDS

OF THESE 11 ½” length SIDE BANDS (WE DO NOT OFFER THIS SERVICE AT THIS TIME.

THE BUYER MUST CUT TO LENGTH TO FIT THE “C” UNITS).

  THE

LONGER 17 ½” length Bands for the “E” & 41” COMMERCIAL UNITS ARE AVAILABLE

IN ANOTHER OF OUR EBAY ADS.

  THESE GLOBE

WERNICKE/MACEY SIDE BANDS ARE INTERLOCKING FOR SIDE-BY-SIDE STACKS (IF

APPLICABLE). THE CLIPS ARE DIFFERENT SIZES DEPENDING IF THEY ARE ON THE RIGHT

OR LEFT SIDE OF THE CASES (SEE ABOVE PHOTOS FOR ILLUSTRATION OF THE

  INTERLOCKING ACTION). They are the exact height & width dimension range;

the clips are in a slightly different position from 100-year-old productions

but work if interlocked with themselves on a side-by-side stack. If not, side

by side, the bands work perfectly well on any applicable free-standing stack The

pieces are laser cut, perfectly dimensional formed and bent. Again, they are

slightly different in the location of the interlocking clips. THESE

11 ½” SIDE BANDS WERE PREDOMINATELY USED ON THE STANDARD PRE-1920 GLOBE

  WERNICKE® "C" & "D" standard production units. The

  17 1/2” bands for the "E", "G", "H" and 41-inch

UNITS bands are available in our other ad on eBay. We have gone to considerable

expense, time and effort to have these produced again. These are

very difficult to produce exactingly. The installation just takes a few

minutes and appears authentic, (EXCEPT THESE LOOK NEW NEXT TO 100+ YEAR OLD

ORIGINALS), when installed with the accompanying mounting hardware.

    WE

ALSO HAVE ANTIQUE GLASS ON HAND IF DESIRED AS WELL AS ALL POSSIBLE KNOBS.

WE HAVE THE SCISSORS FOR ALL GLOBE WERNICKE® DOORS. PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER EBAY

  ADS.

     WE WILL BE PRODUCING DOORS

(EXACTING TO EARLY 1900 GLOBE WERNICKE® PRODUCTION DOORS) IN THE NEAR

FUTURE. WE WILL BE USING 700+ YEAR OLD WOOD.
