My story
New Girl (name coming soon) came in to the rescue because she has a medical condition called Mandibular distoclusion, known as an overbite, overjet, overshot, and mandibular brachygnathism. It occurs when the lower jaw is shorter relative to the length of the upper jaw. When the mouth is closed, the teeth of the lower jaw do not occlude (align normally) with their corresponding teeth in the upper jaw. We will not have a plan for her until she stops growing, at that time the vet will examine her jaw and determine the next step. Sometimes there is no intervention and sometimes they will remove the lower canine teeth. If she is still in rescue we will cover the cost, if she has been adopted we will expect the adopter to cover the cost. She will not be subjected to an early spay so that she can benefit from the extra hormones, the spay will be covered by the adopter as well.
She is a very easy keeper. She is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped. She is only 5 months old, she does excellent in the truck, loves to play with all the dogs here, gets along with all the dogs. She is working on not being so bossy something her new family Must continue with in her training. She has shown some signs of separation issues and would benefit with a home that has other dogs. Applications are accepted now,
ALL adoptions are done FACE TO FACE, we DO NOT ship dogs out. Adopters must travel to Fairbanks, Alaska if you live outside the area.
