Neuman UM 57 Microphone, Excellent cond. manufactured in 1951. This mic is in excellent condition & is the fattest/fullest sounding microphones I have ever heard/used. Looks kinda like a black Neuman U87, but sounds better & I had a matching set of 87's & this mic covers that sound with better quality. If you only had 1 mic to cover all your recordings this would be the mic. Techs at Neuman said this mic is worth anywhere from $3000(bad condition needs fixing) to $5000 on up (excellent condition great sound). If you call regular dealers they will tell you it is worth about $3000 to $4000 or more depending on condition/ buyer, mine is in excellent condition & back then all mic's had there own sound & this one has an incredible unduplicated sound. After recording with this mic I sold my matching set of Neuman 87's & the 103 First $2200 takes it & makes a great deal as the value can only increase.
I bought the Universal Audio LA-610 - Pre-amp/Compressor about 8 years ago for $1500-Will take $875. Using it with Pro-tools, it really warms digital sound up & enhances quality. It has been a recording studio staple since the 70's, now even more with digital recording. It is in excellent condition & has never failed me.
