My story

　　11/25/21 This little lady is Nellie. Nellie was surrendered to the shelter because her previous owner felt they did not have enough time to devote to her. Nellie is used to spending most of her time in a heated dog house. She is said to be housebroken and kennel trained and has done excellent at keeping her kennel clean here at the shelter. Nellie was described by her previous owners as being `very intense.` Nellie was known in the past to compete for attention and be jealous of other dogs. We are requiring that Nellie goes to a home without any other dogs for her best chance of success! Her previous owners stated that with slow introductions Nellie should do good with cats in the home. We do not know how she does with pocket pets or livestock. Nellie has also been known to jump fences and dig. She should always be supervised when in an outdoor enclosure or on a leash or secure tie out. Nellie can be a bit `standoffish` when it comes to meeting new people. We are requiring that she goes to a home without children under 12 years old because of her initial timid behavior and she was said to not quite understand what playing gentle means when meeting children. Nellie is looking for a patient owner that can work with her needs and help her build up her confidence. Nellie was said to be extremely loving and loyal once she gets to know you! Here at the shelter Nellie has been very sweet once she warmed up to her animal tenders. She will even crawl onto your lap if you allow it!
