My story
Thank you so much for looking into Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House for the newest addition to your family.
Nebula lived in a trailer park when she fell pregnant and gave birth to a litter of homeless kittens. A resident of the trailer park noticed her hanging out around and under her RV and began feeding and caring for her. After a few weeks, Nebula brought her kittens, who had gotten very sick by this time, to this woman that had been caring for and feeding her. When the kind woman noticed how sickly and unwell the kittens looked, she reached out to us for help. One of our volunteers jumped into action, collected the kittens and mama and got them straight in to our rescue vet where they were, sadly, confirmed to have panleukopenia (that's kitty parvo.) Our vet started supportive care including fluids, high calorie liquid, iron supplements, heavy antibiotics and more! Unfortunately, this disease is very deadly and even with all the amazing care of our rescue vet, 3 of Nebula's 4 kittens tragically did not make it; the last surviving kitten recovered and soon found his furever home, while the lovely Nebula still waits for hers. If you can find it in your heart and home to give this amazing, dedicated mama her furever home, please inquire today!
At Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House, we do not discriminate against any animal based on their age, current health, or pre-existing medical condition(s). We are a dedicated team of volunteers, with a strong passion for animals and a very special bond with the injured, abused and abandoned. Due to the fact that we work so closely with qualified veterinarians, we are able, and willing, to take on the most complex medical cases to help give them the chance, that ever animal deserves, at a full, happy and healthy life. Our primary goal is giving hope to the hopeless; your adoption helps make a difference.
All of our cats are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.
Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each cat. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left in a box on the side of a road, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners.
