  Additional info:

We've had many dogs come to us from overseas but few have had such a compelling story as the incomparable Mr. Hwang. He came to us from a remote factory in Zhejang Province in China.

The factory had taken him in and chained him to a fence for two years.

He was occasionally fed scraps and almost never walked. He lived outside in the freezing cold and would have starved to death or died from exposure there.

  Fortunately he found a hero.

Don't you just love a happy ending?

He was taken in by a local person who managed to board him and contacted us.

Once indoors he revealed his sweet nature although he had no experience with actually being a dog and was, understandably, nervous.

Mr. Hwang's hero sponsored him and paid all medical and transportation costs to fly him to Los Angeles and now this amazing dog is proud to call himself a Californian.

Because he is unused to being around people he hasn't learned manners or been trained.

We do not recommend him for a home with kids because he will jump up to greet you and he can be mouthy when playing.

He likes to play with other dogs but seems to come on a bit strong for the little ones.

He is a really friendly boy. Energetic, happy, playful, and loves human interaction.

He loves to be outside, and needs a daily routine and daily exercise.

He needs to learn structure, manners, and basic obedience.

He'll need some time to be socialized and get used to his freedom but we can already tell he is a one of a kind dog who will be forever grateful for his second chance at life.He would probably do well in a home with another playful dog of similar size or larger.

He is a beautiful boy, super sweet, and I know that he will thrive in the right environment.
