Molly C's story
Molly C is a sweet 6 year old beagle girl who comes to AZBR from Oregon! Slow to warm up to new humans and dogs, Molly hasn't seen a lot of interest on the adoption front.
Molly would likely do best as an only dog, and she cannot go to a home with young kids. Molly has some food aggression and a little bit of fear aggression, so we don't want her nipping at a young kid that doesn't understand that food falling on the floor now belongs to Molly. Her old owners did get her professional training to try and break the food aggression, but it was not successful enough for them to be comfortable trusting her around a toddler.
I had the pleasure of spending some time with Molly at a recent AZBR event, and she is so sweet once she gets to know you! She was all over her foster parents for attention, and she plays with her younger foster brother Louie all the time (though she wants to nap at times too!).
Her food aggression requires caution, but her being slow to warm up to new people is making it hard for her to get adopted. Molly isn't going to be the dog that takes a flying leap onto your lap the first time she meets you. It will take a few days, a few weeks until she learns to trust a new human completely, but then she will be your best friend forever.
Molly knows several commands (sit, go to your room (dinner time), crate, and 'car'). In fact, she LOVES to ride in the car! She also loves to be outside - Molly would love to have access to a nice backyard with grass to roll in, bushes to explore, and a nice chair to lounge on.
Molly is a love bug, but her cautious personality is going to require someone to take a chance. Get to know her. Let her learn to trust you. Is your home the one for Molly? One that Molly can call her fur-ever home? Ask to meet her today.
