Misty - Needs foster ASAP's story
Our beautiful mom dog Misty needed to get on her DOXY treatments ASAP for her heartworm. That means she cannot be anywhere near her puppies as they CANNOT nurse on her at all since she is on DOXYCYCLINE. Thank goodness they are old enough, about 7 weeks old now, that we can move mom safely and we can start caring for her and getting her healthy! Can you foster our beautiful sweet lapdog affectionate loving Misty? She doesn't feel good right now she just wants to feel love. She just wants someone to snuggle with her all day is that you?
Heartworm is non-contagious (we have no active mosquitos right now.)
Don't pass on this gal! Misty is heartworm positive BUT don't let that stop you from being interested in this girl as your forever girl. EAPL will cover all the vet care for her heartworm treatment. You just need to provide the TLC for just 60 +/- days once she weans her puppies and then she will be on her way to being a normal Colorado active dog! Once the heartworms are cleared then she is good to go. Put in an application and one of our volunteers can talk to you about heartworm and the process.
