Missy's story

　　Meet Missy, the miracle dog. Missy is 7 years young and she is living her best life right now. She is about 20 pounds and loves to jump in your lap for a snuggle or play in the yard smelling all the smells! Missy is low to medium energy and is comfortable in a home, not spooked by household noises or activities. She is house trained and does extremely well with a doggie door. Missy lives with other dogs and happily co-exists with them but her people are the loves of her life. Missy cannot wait to have a person or family of her own as she is one grateful pup! Missy is fostered in Huntsville, AL and is available both locally and via transport to your area.

　　Missy is a special girl. When she was pulled from the shelter we learned that she was infested with heartworms to the point she had heart failure and would likely not be strong enough to survive being spayed or having her heartworm disease treated. In the beginning, she coughed constantly and we felt the end was near. The foster home decided to keep her comfortable until her time came. Missy proved us all wrong and that's why we are ecstatic to post this listing. Fast-forward a year and a half from her shelter escape and this little girl is THRIVING thanks to two diligent foster homes! She overcame heartworms and made it through her spay and dental with ease. She didn't come out of the ordeal completely unscathed as she does have a mild grade 1 heart murmur requiring a small dose of meds but she doesn't let that hold her back.
