Minnie came to us as an owner surrender. She is a 6 month old "Pomchi" . She had been left behind in a rental property when the owners moved away. The new/tenant owner decided she just didn't have time to take care of a puppy. She works 12-14 hr days and tgatvwas just too long to leave the little thing in a crate. . She stated that Mini "is NOT a lap dog, does not know how to walk on a leash, and hates to go for car rides" Further, if left loose, unsupervised in the house, she will go potty, and chew things. Hmmmm....sounds like a 6 month old puppy!! While she is very friendly with children, toddlers under 5 yrs of age can be too rough with tiny dogs, and they are easily "broken".
Also, tiny dogs need yearly dental cleanings, this usually runs $200-$300... so often they aren't the best choice for seniors on fixed incomes.
Mini is going in to the get on 4/5 to be spayed and have her "cherry eye" repaired. She will be available to come home with you after 4/9.
