Mildred's story
Meet Mildred. She is an 8 year old GSD mix who has been at the shelter two months. The shelter is so so hard on these active breeds and Mildred is stressed.
She has become super reactive to other dogs when we walk by, and paces in the yard looking for something or someone that isn't there. She has even started to lick a part of her tail raw from stress. A month ago, Mildred was calm and friendly with the dogs in the yard. With some time to decompress from shelter life, she would make a great chill buddy for your dog at home! Inside, away from all the noise, Mildred started to settle and enjoyed some pets and attention. She knows "sit" for a treat already and would love to learn more- she's a smart lady, I can tell!
Mildred needs an outlet SOON, before she deteriorates even more. If you are interested in making a difference in Mildred's life, bring your dog in to the MCAC West shelter (2500 S 27th Ave., Phx) and say hello!
Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Mildred's $25 adoption fee includes spay, rabies certificate, prior vet care and County license.
