　　The Micrometer Ball Attachment is an ideal accessory, because it is much cheaper than buying a micrometer with a spherical or interchangeable anvil.

　　I find it especially handy when I have to measure the thickness of curved items, such as bearing inserts and tubing walls. This ball attachment is quite easy to install, as it simply fits over the flat anvil on the micrometer frame, being held firmly in place by a spring collect.

　　Balls are hardened, measure .200" and .250 in diameter, and move

　　freely in the retainer, insuring positive contact with anvil and spindle
