My story

　　 IN VERMONT 

　　Meet Mickey! 

　　Mickey is 8 months years old (approx. DOB 8-2-22), male, 30 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. 

　　We found Mickey at an overcrowded shelter in SC with a medical injury after likely having been hit by a car and was extremely underweight at 21 lbs. We knew he would likely not make it out of the shelter so we rescued him! We thought we would have to amputate his leg but we were able to save it! Mickey had a routine FHO surgery and has been given the green light to have full activity! Mickey is social and friendly, loves treats easily, walks well on a leash, and is a young happy puppy just started his new life! His current caretaker says he has been kid, cat, and dog tested and she does great with all! He has medium energy, is crate trained, potty trained, knows Sit and Down, and his favorite hobbies include cuddles, sleeping in bed, running outside, and chewing bones! 　　Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue.  Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance!  

　　Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed.  Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.
