Mermie's story

　　This pretty white and orange girl was being kept as an outside pet up in North County. She has had one litter of kittens and neighbors started nagging the owner to get her to a rescue and off the freezing cold streets. He finally relented and now she is with Heartland. I admit they were far more patient and kind than I would have been, the kitty would come first and not the owners feelings. I do hope he does not replace her with another! Mermie is sweet as a bug, very friendly and affectionate, fine with other kitties, and kids should be no problem at all. She has not been tested with dogs yet so I am cautious about that. She is now spayed, up to date on shots, micro chipped, negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been treated for parasites. A bit more care to be sure ear mites are cleared may be in order, but she is ready for her forever INSIDE home! Mermie is estimated to be just over one year old. She is Heartland #11442CL.
