Meet McKenzie!! McKenzie came to us from a Good Samaritan in Manteca. A feral kitty had been coming around to eat for awhile and decided it would be a good place to have her babies. McKensie was the first to arrive at about 3 weeks of age. The mother had left the little cub on the Good Sams patio, we tried to wait for her for a day feeding the screaming kitten here and there but momma never came back for her. McKenzie was getting cold as night fell even though she was on a heating pad on the patio waiting for her mother to come and collect her... as the night grew colder, we had to bring the baby inside the house. We tried to get mom to come for her and set traps but nothing. McKenzie was placed in a foster home and raised with a new family of two kittens close in age, and a mom who readily accepted her. Fast forward 3/4 weeks and McKenzies mom started showing off two more kittens. Both were rescued and their feral mom trapped, spayed and released back to her home in Manteca.
McKenzie is a gorgeous 5.5 month DMH girl who loves to play and is more on the independent side than needy. She loves to give kisses and enjoys her temptation treats! She has several dogs in her foster home which have been uneventful. McKenzie will happily snuggle next to you and cuddle while you watch your favorite DVRd television shows. McKenzie is looking for her forever home where she will be valued like a fur child and given a lifetime of love and security.
All Second Chance Kitty cats eat a quality dry food with low or no grain and are STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY. Studies have proven cats live longer, healthier lives and on average require less money spent at veterinarians offices when they are kept indoor only. There are many dangers and predators out there, both animal and human... Adoption isn't an impulsive decision, it must be thought out carefully. Owning a cat is a 15 to 20+ year commitment. Can we afford a cat? If we're renting do they allow pets here? Is there a pet deposit? Can we afford the pet deposit? What if we get sick, what if the kitty becomes ill and has to see a veterinarian? Kitty requires quality food,
litter and toys, can we afford this? These are all questions a responsible pet owner must ask themselves. If you think that you can make this type of commitment please visit our website at and submit an application.
