My story

　　We know Maximus is a hound mix, but mixed with what we're not sure... something gorgeous and special, so maybe a unicorn or friendly dragon, or possibly a Lab, Setter, or Spaniel?Maximus is:100% snuggly affection!100% loving loyalty!100% endearing cleverness!100% goofy play!100% good boy!Yes, that's 500%, but Maximus is a big guy, and he has room for a little extra!Maximus has one problem -- he thinks he's a lap dog, and if you sit down, he'll do his very best to fold himself into a shape that fits on your legs! Somehow, with a lot of bending and flopping, he makes it happen -- Maximus is our magic origami dog! And he's so, so ready to go home. He's a very social dude, and it breaks his heart (and ours) when we say goodbye after a shift.Maximus is big, but he's gentle, with excellent manners. He could easily reach the counters in our food prep area, but he respectfully stays on the ground and never steals anything when we're making meals. He's never destructive, and politely ""asks"" to go outside when he needs a bathroom break!Please come meet Maximus -- maximize the love and joy in your life! We're open daily from 9am to noon, no appointment necessary.**Maximus is what we call ""dog-selective"" -- he's terrific with some dogs (big & small), but prefers not to be around others. As with all of our pups, if you have another dog, we'd introduce him/her to Maximus at the shelter to make sure they want to live together.Interested?
