For sale is matching pair of lawyer-barrister-stacking bookcases as would be discovered in a lawyer's workplace starting in the late 1800s. These bookcases have wonderful color, are in wonderful condition, have all their original hardware, and have great raised-paneled ends on each area. I can not discover a maker's name on the bookcases but there is a non-legible label on the back of one area. These bookcases are 3 sections tall each with each bookcase being 45.5" high, 34" large, and 12" deep. The bookcases can likewise be used as one bookcase 6 sections high and would then be 82" high, 34" large, and 12" deep. The bookcases will hold books 10.5" deep and either 9"or 11"high relying on which area is used as the lower section in each bookcase is taller. These bookcases are in wonderful condition with just one flaw as shown in the 10th photo (a break was fixed) and afterwards see pictures 2-4 as viewed from the front and note that the defect is hardly noticeable. The bookcases seem all original to the hardware and wavy glass.
