'80 Masaru KOHNO No. 30 guitar . . . . . . This classical guitar is the "No. 30" model, built in 1980 by legendary luthier Masaru Kohno as one of the higher end guitars in his line.
Gorgeous figuring on the beautiful Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, with a cedar top and ebony fretboard.
The scale length is the more comfortable 650mm and the nut width is 51mm (2 inches).
Label inside is signed by the master.
There is a number stamped on the neck block: 790818 (possibly a build date of Aug 18, 1979?).
Plays and sounds amazing, with a sweet sustaining tone.
Action is about 3.5mm/3mm at the 12th fret E strings. Well-played but not abused, there are numerous little dings and scratches, especially on the top.
A few tiny cracks on top/back were well repaired long ago.
As a bonus there is a pickup system installed with output jack on the endpin, I'm sorry I don't know the brand name but it looks like a tiny microphone mounted inside. I plugged it in and it sounds great, perfect for stage work or recording. Ships in a perfect fitting Gator case, one latch is not working.
