Mary's story
Meet Mary! Mary is a special lady who needs a special foster or adoptive home for a few medical needs.
Mary came to the shelter a month ago with an injury to her back hind leg; Xrays show that she has a fracture in two of the bones in her foot. Because of this, Mary only bears weight on that leg part of the time. The recommended treatment for this is cage rest and pain meds- which Mary has been getting. BUT, imagine trying to heal in a crowded, loud and stressful environment like a county shelter. Ideally, Mary could finish her treatment in a home setting, where she can relax and be around people. In addition, Mary has tested Tick Fever positive; this is NOT contagious and requires a 30 day course of antibiotics, which she has already started.
Despite her injury, Mary is SUCH a doll-baby! She is so happy, wiggly and sweet! She is super appreciative for any attention you can give her, and treats each new person like they're her long lost BFF. We had a great time hanging out in the photo room- Mary calmly sat next to me and soaked up lots of love.
