Marie Laveau's story
Marie Laveau the Voodoo Queen may have a fancy name for a tiny 10 lb lady, but she is anything but a diva. Named during the Mardi Gras season of 2019 and for her gorgeous jet black smooth coat, Ms. Laveau looks the part of a mystical voodoo queen in the glamourous city of New Orleans. But this silly and fun little girl is instead just a ball of cuddles. She loves to play with her canine siblings and especially her foster sibling Haydel before they all crash in a pile on the sofa or the floor. But Ms. Laveau also likes to talk to you before bed, when she wants to go outside, or wants food. Maybe it's the ghosts she hears from the New Orleans cemeteries, but she is always talking back in an adorable little chirping voice. And while she likes to snuggle, she is also good at laying on her own bed and resting by herself because she's an independent woman too. Ms. Laveau hopes that if you're looking for a fun little girl you will look past the fancy name and give her a forever home--maybe even treat her like the queen she doesn't even know she is!
More information on Haydel:

Return Policy: Foster homes save many lives, and as soon as one gets adopted, they often get another one. So spaces fill up fast! If you wish to return your adopted dog, please email [email protected] and be prepared to bring him/her to adoption events until a forever home is found. In some cases their previous foster can take them back. They cannot be given away, sold, or turned in to another agency. You are responsible for keeping your dog and bringing him/her to adoption events until we find a suitable home to adopt them.
