My story
09/10/21 Marco was surrendered to the shelter due to not getting along with the other dogs in the home. According to the previous owner, Marco was aggressive towards the other dogs in the home as well as the neighbor's dogs too. It is unknown how Marco does with children or cats. Alaskan huskies tend to have a higher prey drive so caution should be used when introducing him to smaller critters. Marco is said to be affectionate, friendly and outgoing; he can also be rough when playing. Marco is still a puppy and he will chew on things he shouldn't, jump up on people and counters and he does know how to climb fences. His owners will need to be vigilant about keeping him properly contained. Marco will need an active home, one that has the time to exercise him properly both mentally and physically. Marco would love to have a job; he may possibly be an excellent skijor prospect! We are requiring that Marco does NOT go to a home with other dogs due to his previous history of aggressive behavior towards them. Marco would highly benefit from obedience classes with a certified trainer to work on his issues. Marco is a sweet guy that is affectionate with his people he cares about and he wants to be the only dog to receive that attention! If Marco sounds like the dog for you, please give the shelter a call to make an appointment to meet him.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt MARCO, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
