i am a survivor
Marco was brought in to our rescue by a good Samaritan who noticed that a cat living in his apartment complex was getting thinner and was seriously injured with a large wound along his side.
Marco recovered well from the injury but continued to lose weight even though he ate constantly and was always hungry.
More medical intervention was necessary and Marco was diagnosed as hyperthyroid-- a pretty severe case which luckily has responded very well to twice daily medication. He has gained weight; his coat is shiny and full and he is no longer starving and crying for food.
He loves to be petted and brushed, enjoys a good chat (ie he's a bit on the talkative side) and can be found most days resting in whatever patch of sun he can find. He loves to look out the window and see the world go by. He lives companionable with other cats but does not really interact much with them.
He's now living with a cat-savvy 15 pound dog and is fine with him.
He is stable now on his current meds. We are also looking for someone who could foster this guy longterm if the financial aspect is a bit daunting.

How To Adopt Me!
13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, No-Kill Rescue Group based in San Jose.
We try our best to match our cats to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular cat
