My story
Sweet Mandy is a lovely little Dalmatian Wannabe (36 pounds) who was very frightened by all the noise and barking in the shelter in Texas. Picked up as a stray, neighbors said her kids threw rocks at her and yelled a lot. She was terrified and responded by chasing the kids. She is still very shut down but accepts gentle handling. So far, she's quiet and has met the resident dogs in her new foster home. She is lightly heartworm positive but will be starting treatment shortly. Mandy will be a sweet, loving companion once she has time to decompress and find out that everyone is not bad. She did well with shelter staff and the other dogs during play time. Mandy is mostly white with nice spots on her ears and lots of freckles under her white fur. A quiet home with all adults or teens would probably suit her best. We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed.
