My story

　　This handsome boy is finally officially searching for his fur-ever home! He was found as a stray, so we know nothing about his history. We estimate him to be a young adult dog, perhaps about 2-3 years old. We neutered him and cleaned his teeth. He has been SUCH a good boy with us and has quickly become a favorite by everyone in the rescue and in Mapleview!

　　Manatee came to us limping on his left rear leg. We took some X-rays and sent them to a specialist. They got back to us

　　today and suspect at one point he had injuries to his cruciate ligaments and they are now healing. We had him on a short course of pain and anti-inflammatory medications. He has been off the medication now and resumed normal activity and he is no longer limping! He could have no issues for a long time, but it’s also possible he could injure himself again down the road.

　　He had a mass on his scrotum, we removed it and sent it out for biopsy and it returned as a cyst, so there are no further concerns there.

　　We tested Manatee with a large and a small breed dog and he seems to be dog friendly. He has a lot of energy and would love another dog to play with.

　　Due to Manatee’s history of being a stray, we are ideally looking for a home with a fenced in yard. He will also benefit from a home that will provide him some obedience training. He is a very sweet and good boy, but is young and needs direction

The $300 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; heartworm and tick disease testing; fecal w/ giardia testing, monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention . Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
