My story

　　Greetings! My name is Mamoru and I was a neighborhood cat for 5+ years until my foster found me, took me to the vet and brought me inside. I'm about 10 years old and

　　I'm definitely enjoying this indoor life. My foster fur brother is really helping me- we like to claim the bed as our own! I also like humans very much, and I simply cannot get enough affection! I am a purring machine and just want you to stay in bed and pet my chin all day. I won’t wake you from your sleep, though,

　　and wait patiently until you wake to feed me. I really enjoy laying in the sun and just lounging around. In fact, it's tough for my foster mom to get a picture of me with my eyes open! I am loving this spoiled life, but I would like for my future person to please be patient and gentle with me as I settle into a new home. I'm also FIV+ (see below), which isn't a big deal; I will just need a good, healthy diet and to stay inside so that I'm not exposed to illnesses. I would do fine as an only kitty or if you have a friend for me at home already, that works too! I promise to give you endless amounts of love and loyalty if you choose me!*FIV, or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, is transmitted through a deep bite or in utero. It is typically seen in cats that have spent a great deal of time outdoors (like Mamoru) where the likelihood of altercation is high. Cats with this condition can lead long, normal lives, but it is important to keep them indoors and healthy. FIV leads to increased susceptibiltiy to infections and other diseases; if the cat is fed a high quality diet and kept free from parasites and other dangers, then the quality and length of life can be excellent.
