We are a family who love and treasure our Maltese. They are bred and raised right here with us. Before being adopted into their new homes they have their dew claws removed, are vet checked twice, have their first shots and have been wormed 4 times. They begin house training at 4 weeks of age. At this time they have developed their sense of smell and will try not to soil their sleeping area. This is a natural instinct. We use that to teach them the proper place to potty. We will give you all of the information you need to continue with that training. We will be here to help and support you through out the course of your new baby?s life. We are only a phone call away.
Whether you purchase your new baby from us, or from some where else, be careful! First of all, ask tons of questions. You should feel comfortable with the breeder. You should be confident that they have nothing to hide. They should answer your questions completely.
Ask to see pictures of the parents. Ask how often the mother has been bred. Ask how many dogs they have. Ask if the person you are talking to is the owner of the litter. Many times you are talking to a ?middle man?.
Never, ever buy your puppy from a pet store. No responsible loving breeder would ever put their puppies in a pet store. You will not be able to talk to the breeder, and you will not be able to see where the puppy has been for his/her first few weeks of life. The first few weeks of life are incredibly important.
If at all possible, go and get your puppy from the breeder?s home. This way you can see where the puppy has been kept. If the breeder meets you at the door with the puppy without letting you in, run! They obviously have something to hide. If they take you to the back yard, run! The puppies have been kept outside and have not been properly cared for. It is a full time job to properly care for a litter of Maltese puppies. They need to be brushed daily. They need to be played with and held and loved individually. These things are very important and need to begin immediately.
Never buy your puppy from another country. First of all, there probably is no puppy. It is most likely a scam. Second of all, no loving person would ever send their puppy on a flight that long.
You will find that the cost of a Maltese puppy varies greatly. Keep in mind that most of the time, you get what you pay for.
Feel free to call or email. We are always happy to answer your questions. :)
