My story
Foster home needed for this gorgeous standard Xolo puppy, 7 months old. He recently had surgery to repair a congenital heart defect. Since it has been repaired, it is expected that he will live a long, healthy life with no further issues or treatment. He does need a followup echocardiogram in August and then needs to be neutered once cleared to do so, so he needs a foster home until he is ready to be adopted, at which time the foster parent would have the option to make it official if desired. About this boy-Mako is a playful, happy boy. His tail never stops wagging. He loves, loves, loves to play with toys and play fetch in the yard. Need a buddy for long walks? He's your guy. He is currently 25 lbs and we expect he will be a small standard at about 35-40 lbs when full grown. He needs a home with NO small dogs, due to his size and strength. He unfortunately won't take no for an answer from little dogs because he's so persistent. He is currently in a foster home with 6 small dogs (we were originally told he was great with small dogs and unfortunately found out that was incorrect info) and needs to be moved ASAP because he is too rough with them. We don't want anyone to get hurt! He has no aggression whatsoever toward people and would do great in a home with older kids who would play with him (no young children please, due to his activity level and strength). He would be happy as an only dog as long as it is an active home that will spend lots of time with him. He would also likely be good with a dog his size or larger that is playful. He is not a candidate for apartment living because he can be vocal when he is excited. Because of his followup scheduled veterinary care, he needs a foster home that is located in NH, MA, VT or ME. Please contact us for further info if you meet this criteria. Someone is going to be very lucky to get this amazing boy! Email [email protected]
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mako (NH), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
