Description

  My story

READ ENTIRE BIO❗️❗️Maka showed up in a feral colony. She was covered in fleas and sores, and she was picked on and beat up by other cats (see photos with banged up nose). She’s been fully vetted, microchipped, combo tested, and is spayed. She has been fostered inside and has some very specific requirements for her forever family. She’s a special lady. Maka has huge, gorgeous, blue eyes. Her eyes are also crossed. She’s a petite girl with a thick, soft coat weighing in at 8.3 pounds currently. She’s got a bit of “catitude”, but first we will talk about all the good stuff! She’s healthy and her nose is healing. She’s very neat and tidy. She’s litter box trained and never had an accident. She’s happy with dry food solely; but does enjoy wet food for an occasional treat. She enjoys “chatting” with you, but isn’t overly talkative. She can be very sweet and seeks affection. She enjoys living inside very much. She will rub on you and purr, if you ignore her, beware she will nip you. She likes to lay in your lap and very much enjoys making biscuits. She does drool. Yes we said drool! When she’s happy, content, getting attention, being petted….. she drools. It’s a decent amount, she will leave little drool marks on your clothes and you’ll see it on her chin. She has no shame in regards to her drool. It’s completely normal and we made sure there was nothing medically wrong with her mouth. Maka needs to be in a home with NO other cats, NO young children (must be 14+), and NO elderly people. She would likely do okay with a dog or two if they were respectful of cats and weren’t super loud and hyper. She MUST be an only cat for her lifetime, if given the choice, we assure you she is TEAM DOG all the way as long as they’re respectful doggos. If you plan on having children in the future she IS NOT the cat for you. If you want to adopt more cats in the future she IS NOT the cat for you. We cannot be more clear about this. She can be “bitey” at times. It sometimes comes out of nowhere, but sometimes you’ll know it’s coming. She does not break skin, she does have good bite inhibition. But she makes no qualms about biting you if you overstimulate her, make her angry, touch her belly or rear end, or you stop petting and paying attention to her. The latter are what we refer to as “love bites”. She doesn’t bite hard enough to leave a mark or really hurt you. But for this reason she is not appropriate for young kiddos or elderly people with thin skin that are easily injured. She needs a CAT SAVVY person who will understand this quirk and work with her on this appropriately. Physical discipline is NOT the answer! She is a Siamese and with that comes cross eyes. Hers are both very crossed. She looks like a cartoon character and is adorable. She has pretty severe nystagmus which is common in this breed. It basically means that her eyes dart or move back and forth involuntary. She cannot control it happening. Due to this her vision is impaired, to what extent we're not sure. She can definitely see, but if you were cross eyed and had nystagmus you’d definitely have depth perception issues among other focusing issues. It’s not something you can “fix” or treat medically. She does move her head some back and forth when she’s trying to focus on something to better see it. But she’s definitely capable of jumping up on the couch or bed and she doesn’t run into things. I just don’t think she can jump up high and definitely wouldn’t pass a driving test. She requires a specific home and deserves humans will love her for who she is and understand she will require time, love, and patience. ♥️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maka, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
