　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's Home for the Holidays campaign aims to have as many homeless pets home by the end of December as possible! During November & December 2012, we've waived adoption fees for adult cats 1 year and older and reduced younger cats' fees to only $40! Make a cat's Christmas wish come true!

　　Please come in and meet this handsome young man named Barry, a fluffy little gray and white tabby boy. He's approximately 5 months old. Barry has very unique patchwork-like spots. Just a little bit of extra coloring! He looks very similar to a Maine Coon mix. He might not get big enough to be a large-breed kitty, like some other Maine Coons and mixes. His chest is white, but has a stand-alone gray tabby patch in the center. Barry was harmfully abandoned in town. He was put in a box that was fully closed and taped shut with duct tape, then tossed out on the street. Poor baby! He's doing great at our adoption center, where he's already learned not everyone is a harmful, sick person. Some people out there can love him and make him a part of their family. Might that be you? 　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors (19 and under, in the state of Alabama). Read up on our adoption process .
