　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's Home for the Holidays campaign aims to have as many homeless pets home by the end of December as possible! During November & December 2012, we've waived adoption fees for adult cats 1 year and older and reduced younger cats' fees to only $40! Make a cat's Christmas wish come true!

　　This big & beautiful guy is Archie, a very fluffy and handsome orange tabby/Maine Coon mix. He's under 5 years. He is absolutely gorgeous! Archie is a low-energy, independent guy who's used to socializing with people in a low-key, gentle environment. Unfortunately, his former owner passed away, though we took custody of Archie beforehand. He'd do great as an only cat or with one or two other cats, but not with dogs or small children. Archie comes from a very gentle, quiet, low-energy type of home, and would re-acclimate best in another quiet home. You can meet Archie at our cat adoption center during open hours or by contacting us for an appointment.

　　Negative for FIV/FeLK, current on vaccinations and neutered.

　　Our adoption fee is $75, a fee to help offset a fraction of vet and basic care costs. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
