Description

  My story

07/12/22 Maia, previously known as Sabrina, was surrendered back to the shelter because her prior owner was moving out of state and unable to rehome her. Her prior owner stated that she does wonderfully with people of all ages and she has been quite sweet and social towards her animal tenders. If you are looking for cuddler look no further! She does have a history of having a high prey drive so we are still requiring that she goes to a home without cats and may do best in general without any smaller critters. Maia was described as being `careful` towards other dogs. If you do plan on introducing her to other dog friends please make sure to do so in an appropriate manner and environment. Maia was said to be housebroken, kennel trained, and to generally mind well. Maia is a bit overweight and would for her new owner to help her shed a few pounds. This will help her physical and mental health in the long run! Maia was sent out for a workup and dental cleaning courtesy of the amazing shelter fund! She will need to be on a softened food until August 4th. The vet also stated that Maia's ideal weight should be around 70 pounds. Maia was known for getting into the trash, digging, and being vocal at times. She is looking for an owner who can continue to help her be the best girl possible! Her prior owners did describe her as being super sweet and she would love the chance to win over more hearts! If you are interested in meeting her please give the shelter a call!08/28/19 Sabrina was adopted from the shelter and then rehomed with her owners neighbor. Unfortunately the other dog in the home did not get along with Sabrina so she was surrendered back to the shelter. Sabrina, like most huskies, has a strong prey drive so she will not do good in a home with small animals. She is a young energetic dog who will need LOTS of exercise and continued training. Sabrina can be destructive when left alone so kenneling when you leave the home is a must. She does know sit, stay, and shake. Sabrina has a strong personalities so mutuals are highly recommended if your looking to add her to your current dogs. Sabrina was surrendered to the shelter because she attacked the cat in her previous home. Her previous owner was attempting to help Sabrina with her high prey drive, a common trait in huskies. Her previous owner also took time to teach Sabrina sit, stay, and shake. Continued training with her is encouraged for mental stimulazation to keep her out of mischeif! Sabrina is now required to go to a home without cats or small animals to best set her up for success. Sabrina is also not the best with other dogs and needs to be the only dog in the the home. Sabrina also has some pretty bad separation anxiety and hates being in a kennel alone and will get stressed and have diarrhea so a family that is home often would be a good fit for her! If you have never owned a huskie please do research before adopting!July 22, 2022, 11:06 pm
