This is a unique antique red mahogany leather-topped Victorian drum table with curio compartment, believed to be made by Milano Furniture Co. Inc, Chicago, Illinois, circa approximately 1930s. It has a gold gilded and banded leather insert in the top. The table stands 30 inches tall with a diameter of 32 inches. The tabletop is 7/8 of an inch thick and the drum base is 1/2 inch thick. The storage area between the drum base and the table top is 7-3/4 inches high. There are four curved doors in the drum, each with brass lattice wire inserts. Each door measures 13 inches across by 7-3/8 inches high. This storage area runs the diameter of the table. The turned and carved standard is raised on four out-swept carved legs ending with brass caps with casters. I can find no markings on this table, but believe it to be from the 1940's. I believe the wood is flame mahogany on the top edge and drum sides. The wood and leather show normal wear and there are no missing or broken pieces. It is in very good condition and has never been refinished. This table does not come apart from the pedestal. Additional photos available upon request. All reasonable offers considered after viewing.
