Attention Schnauzer lovers! Meet Maggie, a 5-year-old Schnauzer who took the freedom ride with TRD from the Humane Society of Imperial County in March 2018. Maggie is full grown and weighs about 16 pounds. Maggie does not shed, which makes her a great fit for adopters looking for a hypoallergenic dog.
Although Maggie is young in age, she is an old soul at heart. She is sweet-natured, mellow, and attentive. She does not need much attention (seeking attention is for silly puppies, and Maggie is way too dignified for that). She just loves to be around people and follows her foster mom around the house.
Maggie is affectionate in her own unique way--cuddling isn't her style, but she likes to sit in her foster mom's lap. She also enjoys a good belly rub. Maggie is currently working on her house training skills, along with learning some basic commands. True to her personality, Maggie does not play much with toys or other dogs but she likes to go on walks around the neighborhood. She has been great on the leash. She is not reactive to other dogs or people.
Maggie would be a great addition to a family seeking a sweet and mellow lower energy dog. If you would like to meet Maggie, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.http://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/
