My story
10/17/21 Maddison, previously known as Koda, was surrendered to the shelter because her previous owners could not afford to keep up with her destructive carpet chewing habit or medication. Maddison, or Maddy, is said to be a social butterfly that loves all humans but does not understand her size or strength and can often be too rough with children. She is very friendly and outgoing but does have a tendency to jump on people. Maddison would highly benefit from a training class to help her control these bad habits. She is said to know basic commands, such as sit, lay down, kennel and come here. Maddy is also said to be housebroken and kennel trained and will scratch at the door when she needs to go out. Maddison has previously been diagnosed with epilepsy, which is managed by a twice daily medication. Her new owner should get in with their regular vet to evaluate Maddison and continue this medication if needed. Approximate monthly costs for Maddison's medication would be around $80/month.
Bloodwork to re-evaluate her with her new owner's regular vet would be about $260. Depending on how Maddison is doing, bloodwork might be yearly (if she is doing well) or more often (if having breakthrough seizures). Maddison has not had any seizures while at the shelter. If you are interested in Maddison, please give the shelter a call!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt MADDISON, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
