My story

Mac is a mostly quiet and sweet 14 lb, 8 year old chihuahua mix who is shy at first, especially when faced with new people and new living situation, but blossoms into a sturdy cuddle bug and attentive companion who does not get under your feet. Macaroni wants a predictable one or two person family that will be patient with him when he joins their household since he needs a little time to relax, explore and build relationships with family members. He does well with women, men and older children, but finds young kids a bit unpredictable. He tends to pick a favorite person to be "his person". Macaroni walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and is doing very well with his house training, and will use pee pads. He appreciates having a comfy safe spot of his very own to retreat for reflection and a good nap. He is good with other dogs, and respectful of the foster's dog-tolerant cat. Mac has a sensitive tummy, but he has a good appetite, is not a picky eater and we found kibble he tolerates very well. No free-feeding for Macaroni as he will clean out the bowl in a heartbeat, and besides he is on a diet to drop that extra weight that makes him look like a harbor seal. Macaroni loves a good cuddle on the couch, knows how to be a good companion without going over the top, and would be a good friend for life! Macaroni is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. Mac is on medications to prevent seizures which is required daily. His adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. If you would like to meet
