Mabel is not available for placement until late April, but we are taking applications to see if we can match her to the perfect home prior to that time.
Visit her FACEBOOK page Mabel The Coalinga Rescue Dog to learn about her journey from the oil fields in Coalinga, CA to the good life in the San Fernando Valley.
Mabel is 34 pounds of sunny disposition.
She is an affectionate people oriented dog. She has lovely house manners, is affectionate and cuddly yet manages on her own quite well. She is housebroken, very comfortable in a crate and has basic obedience skills. She hasnt barked yet, doesnt whine and she doesnt mind the rain. But NO CATS or critters!
She will require mental and physical stimulation
she is obsessed with retrieving the ball and maybe a Frisbee - but her physical condition from the abuse she sustained prior to rescue would likely prevent her from extended exertion in competition sports (i.e, no day-long hiking, agility/flyball, etc).
She would love Barn Hunt!
Her forever home must have the ability to discern how much physical activity she could manage without causing herself pain or soreness.
If you think you would like to make Mabel a part of your home for the rest of her life, please submit an Application to Adopt and we will contact you to arrange for a private meeting.
If you would like to donate to Mabels on-going medical bills (over $1400 to date) you can do so at Adopt Me Rescues PayPal (adoptmerescue.org).
