1997 Lund Barron
I have for sale a Lund Barrons 21 ft. 5 in. The hull ID is LUNAE047G697. It has a 1997 Mercury 225 hp. model # 225XLEFI serial number OR162275 and a 2006 Mercury 25 four stroke model number F25 ELPT Serial number OR162275. These motors have performed flawlessly for me. Lund Barron?s with outboards are very hard to come by. .
This boat was used on Lake Michigan for fishing trout and salmon about 9 times a year. This boat is really a can do machine. The trolling motor can be raised/lowered, steered and speed controlled from front helm. The trolling motor is completely controlled form front helm.
The electronics on the boat are Furno Radar model 1621, Lawrance 787 gps/fish finder, and Cannon depth speed and temperature indicator at various depths. There is a Humminbird paramount in the back area. The Furno radar gives exceptional imaging.
The boat has five Can brand down riggers, four are digital IV and one is a high speed Can brand Marlin. Two of the Digital IV are set up for bottom tracking. I had to change spelling on brand of downrigger.
The boat has a Raytheon auto pilot. One person can troll big water easily with this auto pilot.
There is a super strong radar arch with 8 Big Jon rod holders. The boat also has four ?side mount? Big Jon rod holders. There is Taco outriggers.
The boat has a standup canvas top and drop curtain. This top is an absolute necessity when fishing in spring and fall or in inclement weather. I did move two of the back pedestals forward so there are four seats inside the standup top.
The boat has a front cover and a factory removable ?floor plate? to make the front area a casting platform.
The boat had a four stroke Mercury 9.8 trolling motor when I got it. I did switch the mercury 9.8 out for a Mercury 25 hp. four stroke. The Mercury 25 runs much quieter and has much more thrust if needed. Don?t ever let anyone tell you that a 10 hp. will make a good trolling motor on a boat over 19 ft.!
The Lund Barrons are absolutely great for fishing big water. The Lund Barron outboard has a low cockpit deck which makes for much easier to fishing then many larger boats. When the water gets rough you will feel very secure in this boat.
The trailer is galvanized and has a walk out ramp for easy hook up. The trailer has guides to help load if there is a cross wind. It is exceptionally easy to load and unload. One person can do it very easily.
I am the second owner of the boat. The original owner had sold the boat to me because of health problems. I have had the boat for 10 years. It has always been stored inside when not in use. The reason I am selling it is that I am cutting back on big water fishing because of my age.
I have owned a number of inboards and inboard/outboards for fishing big water. By far the Lund Barrons are the most versatile and most economical to operate over the long haul. If you really want to spend money on service, buy an inboard or inboard/outboard.
I have approximately $45,000+ invested in this boat. I am offering it for sale for $34,500. This price is negotiable depending on gear you want with boat. I also have a Lund Tyee 4.9 for sale.
My shed is still snowed in so I don?t have many good pictures yet.
