My story
The warrior princess!Hey my lovelies! I am Luella, and feel free to call me a queen. I am a 10 year old, female Chihuahua Terrier mix, weighing just about 7.5 lbs and spayed. I have been a wonderful girl at my foster home and picked up good habits. I am still learning to pee outside, but a 100% on poop outside, and great on the leash. Now, moving on to my medical history...I am a freaking warrior! I have had bad back left leg injury that left me with a fracture pelvis, knee, and ankle, but I have learned to work with it. The other three, however, work perfectly well and after getting my strength back, I' m unstoppable. From slithering around without my back leg, I can put the stairs to shame! Watch those zoomies! I was pretty bald when rescued, but good diet and meds have given me hair fit for a shampoo ad. I have a pirate eye aka wonky one and I need eye drops (3x/day) in remaining eye. I need to be on a lifetime of eye and anti-inflammation meds (Meloxicam and Dorzolamide HCl Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic). Established care with an Ophthalmologist will be required, to monitor and get periodical blood work to check kidney levels . Medications will cost ~$20 for Meloxicam for 2 months supply, ~$20 for Dorzolamide a month, depending on market value.I am a spunky, albeit, easygoing lady, that loves to be near her people. Once tucked in for the night, you will see me only in the morning, cozy in my own bed. I am great with dogs and kiddos, and havent met cats yet. I am an explorer, however, and can/will slip through tiny gaps in fences if I feel like going on a self guided tour of the neighborhood. But don't worry, I am not a runner, and wont bolt out of the front door. Na-ah. If you like cute chirps, I do that when I need food, lap time or attention. You will adore it, I pawmise!Everyone who has met me, says that I deserve the world. I am a a sweet, affectionate, and charismatic dog and anyone would be lucky to have me, as attested by foster mama! You want this cuteness in your life and I will return your love and care with all the snuggles and companionship. I think I'll do well in any home, but maybe one without large dogs simply because I am so tiny and can't see to the left. Not that I am scared or anything! If you think you are ready for this fuzzy goodness with a heart of gold, let's meet up! My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application##1380147##
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Luella, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
