Lucy's story
Lucy wants to be a good girl, but needs a little guidance still! She is good with other dogs after she meets them and smells and gets to know them for a few minutes. She does not seem like she was socialized very much before she came to us, so slow introductions and patience will be key to her growth!
She was surrendered by an owner who was struggling with her energy level and her stubborn husky attitude (typical!). They only had a 5ft fence, and Lucy was able to scale that easily. One day she jumped the fence and got into the neighbors chicken coop to have some fun
as a result we know for a fact she is not good with chickens!! The owners were concerned that she was aggressive and considering euthanasia when they decided to surrender instead upon evaluating her, we see no aggression, just a playful, curious, under-socialized husky puppy that got bored and saw an opportunity for some fun. Most huskies would kill a chicken given the chance and not even realize what they were doing
we dont feel this is any indication of her overall temperament, but want to make an adopter aware. She is very sweet and loves to be pet, but will need to be in a home with no chickens or cats. Older children would be ok with her, but probably none too young since she does need some training and socialization and we dont believe she has been around young children before
she may be fine with them in the long run, but immediately we think she needs to work up to that.
She is young enough that, with some time, patience and love we believe she will turn out to be an amazing dog! She needs to go for more walks, learn to get better on a leash, and be exposed to more new things, all of which we will be working on until she is adopted! She is sweet and wants to be good, she just needs your help
