Lucy - in Maine - updated April 2018
Lucy checked in to let us know how life is going now that she is in foster here in Maine:
"When you come home and say 'Lucy Im home!!' You will not ever receive a more enthusiastic greeting than you will from me. Im a pointer mix girl and Im as sweet and exuberant as they come. A smile and a kiss awaits you. Not to mention my butt! Seriously, it doesnt stop wiggling. I have a zest for life and joy that bubbles over. If you have a couch and a lap to share I'm all in! A walk, a hike, a bike ride, the dog park, a car ride? I will answer YES PLEASE. Im up for just about anything. At 18-months I still have puppy energy that needs to be burned off but I am coming into my manners quite well if I do say so myself. I would definitely appreciate some more lessons on how to not take delicious things off the counter (but they are SO delicious), and how to lay down on command (Its so hard to do when my butt is wiggling). If you're looking for a fun loving goofball Im your girl!
I know the basics like sit, come, and of course I know my name! I have the softest fur ever and ears that are addictive for petting. So feel free to pet them as long as you want. I dont mind. I am quite interested in chasing all small things, especially if they run. So my foster moms say I require a cat free (and any other small loose animals...bunnies, birds, etc) home."
Our partner shelter uses the Meet Your Match Evaluation and Lucy is Orange-Busy Bee
Im a naturally playful, curious and trusting canine. Take me for a big walk every day; give me something to do. After my jobs done, Ill curl up in front of the fire with you in the evenings.
Everyone who meets her absolutely loves Lucy! She is so happy and friendly and brightens everyones days with her joy for life! Lucy enjoys being around people of all ages and also gets along with other dogs.
Lucy is a very enthusiastic companion on daily walks, the longer, the better! She is housetrained, too. Lucy has the best time in the fenced yard, where she bounds about happily - it's a great outlet for her abundant energy. She has had several play dates with some of her fellow shelter dogs and they all had the best time!
Lucy is very friendly and loves attention and affection. Her happy doggy face looks like she is smiling at you. This is one special dog!
If you have interest in meeting Lucy or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application here: /adoption-application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
Thank you for considering rescue!
