Louie's story
With his pinto-patched coat and soft green eyes, Louie loves curling up in his doggy bed to watch his bright new world. Sweet and shy at 16 pounds, he's still quite feral, having missed out on his early life lessons in human interaction and socialization. And yet, paw step by paw step, he's progressing daily with patient guidance and encouragement of his foster mom. He gets along well with cats, and with time, has grown to be more comfortable around the other dogs, large and small in his foster home. He now looks up to his foster fur-siblings (especially the female) for companionship, protection and trust in his humans. He is slowly giving into his natural curiosity as he explores his environment under his foster mom's watchful eye. To increase his trust in and comfort around people, she tempts him with the biscuits he likes, and pets him and talks to him, gently and softly. Now, to fully flower, what Louie truly needs are patient and loving adopters in tranquil surroundings with another dog mentor to help him feel comfortable, and like "part of the pack", as well as a securely fenced yard to keep him safe and happily at home fur-ever.
