Louie's story

　　Louie is looking for a long-term commitment. After venturing out on his own he found himself in a bad situation. A lack of food caused his body to start shutting down. He was extremely ill when he was picked up on the streets. Friends of Rescue stepped up to help and Louie spent the next two days in the hospital. His prognosis looked grim but this little fighter surprised everyone. Louie has now made an excellent recovery and wants his next chapter to be filled with love and endless kibble.

　　Weighing in at 8.2 pounds, charming Louie is the perfect size for the crook of your arm. Yes, this guy loves to be held! He is still quite independent, as most Chihuahuas are, and will find a cuddly place to nap if you're not available. He's about two years old and has the cutest lip curl. He gets along well with other dogs but can get a little bossy if he feels threatened. He hasn't been tested with cats but would likely be fine. Louie would be happy as someone's one and only or he'd do great with a family. Older kids might be a better fit for this love hound because he wants to be your baby. He's very chatty when he's trying to get your attention which sounds like his own doggy language. He has the cutest stance with turned out feet and a curled tail. His big brown eyes and his adorable underbite will make you want to abandon whatever you're doing and just sit and love on him. He does fine in a kennel but prefers to snuggle with you at night. He'll wake you up with kisses when he needs to go out. He's doing great with potty training and currently has access to a doggie door which gives him the freedom he loves! He's vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and on heartworm preventative. He's being fostered in Madison, Alabama.
