Description

THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION.  PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID.

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a lot of 4 cornets. These instruments are being sold as is for parts or repair. These are former school horns that have been retired by the district that owned them. As such, they have school ID markings hand etched on the bells, and written on the cases. These are in fairly rough condition for the most part, and should not be considered playable in their current state. I'll describe their defects to the best of my ability, but please understand that I am not an expert on this type of instrument (I'm a woodwind guy), so I might miss something. Also, check the pictures closely, and if in doubt, ask questions! Besson 600 (Boosey & Hawkes) (serial number J6528) - The rim of the bell is in good shape. There are dents, dings, pings, and nicks throughout, including on back of the "U" bend leading to the bell. There is a jog in the tubing right after the lead pipe. There are multiple resoldered joints, and one broken solder joint. It is missing a grip nub off of the 3rd valve slide. None of the tuning slides are stuck. All of the pistons and lower valve caps could be removed. The pistons are moving freely and rebounding quickly, but they are clicking. The lacquer finish shows significant scratching and scuffing throughout. This horn comes in a wood shell case. The case in in decent shape with no major issues, although it does have a mismatched replacement latch.Holton C602 Collegiate (serial number 493559) - The rim of the bell has been bent, but was repaired well. There are minor pings and nicks, but no significant dents. There are multiple  resoldered joints. There are solder scars just behind the 3rd valve slide where something is missing. All of the tuning slides are free. All of the pistons and lower valve caps could be removed. The pistons are moving and rebounding, but aren't operating smoothly. The lacquer finish shows significant scratching and scuffing throughout. This horn comes in a wood shell case. The case in in decent shape with no major issues.King 602 (serial number 961633) - The rim of the bell is ever so slightly wavy from a previous repair. There are minor pings and nicks, but no significant dents. There are multiple  resoldered joints with ugly solder jobs, and at least one currently broken joint. All of the tuning slides, except for the second valve slide, are free. All of the pistons and lower valve caps could be removed. The pistons are moving and rebounding, but quite sluggishly. The lacquer finish shows significant scratching and scuffing throughout. This horn comes in a wood shell case. The case in in decent shape with no major issues. It does have a mismatched replacment latch though.Bundy (serial number 888172) - The rim of the bell is wavy from being bent in ,multiple places. There is denting on the back of the "U" bend leading to the bell, and there are pings and nicks elsewhere. There are multiple resoldered joints, one broken solder joint, and one missing brace. The slides  are all free. All of the pistons and lower valve caps could be removed. The pistons are moving and rebounding, but not smoothly. The lacquer finish shows significant wear, scratching, and scuffing throughout. This horn comes in a wood shell case that is in decent condition. There are no mouthpieces, nor any other accessories included with any of these. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking!MPSlot4
