My story
Lizzie has quite the story! She had lived in a junkyard & delivered 2 litters before being trapped & rescued. She has been through more than we can imagine & we are so proud of the progress she has made in the short amount of time we've had her.Lizzie is very timid when meeting new people. She definitely approaches on her terms. She still tenses up when being pet but is learning to accept it. She has never shown aggression & is very submissive. She tolerates other dogs but would enjoy a home to herself for now while she gains her confidence & gets comfortable in her new surroundings. She wears a harness & we've started walking her on the patio with a leash. She does get excited to see her humans in the morning & has a wiggle butt! She is very independent & is content on a nice bed or in an open crate to herself. She is potty trained & goes outside to the patio by being let out. She loves to lay on the patio & soak up the sun. She needs a home with a secured, attached backyard. She is opening up more & more each day. She is the best girl & just needs time.Lizzie is a 2 year old collie mix. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines & microchipped. She weighs 27 lbs.Lizzie is a TRUE RESCUE & needs a family that has the time, patience, understanding & love to help her out of her shell & become her best self. She can not go to a home with expectations. Please complete an adoption application at & you will be contacted if your application fits her needs.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lizzie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
