Lily - Looking for a CO Foster's story
Lily needs a foster home to come to EAPL for her heartworm treatment.
Lily is her name and she is about 5 years old. They think she is is an Australian Shepherd mix. She's weighs approximately 44 lbs but not a big dog. She reaches just at my knees. She is pretty easy going and doesn't bark much.. She is house and crate trained, knows sit, stay, and easy (when taking food from your hand). Lily is also pretty good on a leash. Lily is a little leery around strangers but I think she was abused before but she is not aggressive. Currently we are in an apartment and I really think she needs a yard. Most noises or people get her attention and when she sees a another dog she gets really excited. I work with her using small treats to train her. Lily is good indoors also, she doesn't tear anything up or chew on anything. I'm really hoping to find her a good loving home that can offer her a yard with lots of love.
Lily is heartworm positive BUT don't let that stop you from being interested in this girl as your forever sweetheart. EAPL will cover all the vet care for her heartworm treatment. You just need to provide the TLC for 2 months and then she will be on her way to being a normal Colorado active dog! Once the heartworms are cleared then she is good to go. Put in an application and one of our volunteers can talk to you about heartworm and the process.
